Comprehensive Dental Health Checks
Your smile is one of your most important assets, and keeping it healthy goes beyond what you can see in the mirror. Even with a great daily routine, small issues can go unnoticed until they become bigger problems. That’s where a comprehensive examination comes in—designed to ensure your smile is truly in the best shape possible.
Comprehensive Dental Health Checks in Edinburgh
Are you sure your smile is as healthy as it could be?
Your smile might look great, but there’s often more going on beneath the surface that you can’t see. Cavities, gum disease, and even early signs of oral cancer can develop without causing obvious symptoms at first. That’s why it’s so important to have regular dental appointments to catch any problems early before they become bigger (and more costly) issues down the line.
Don’t wait until something feels wrong to visit us.
Complete Care for Your Teeth
Is this the right appointment for you?
It would be beneficial to book an appointment if:
- You haven’t seen a dentist in six months or more
- You’re experiencing discomfort, pain, or sensitivity in your teeth or gums
- You’ve noticed changes like bleeding gums, bad breath, or tooth discolouration
- You want peace of mind knowing your smile is as healthy as possible
- You’re looking for preventive care to avoid future dental problems
This allows us to thoroughly assess your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. Even if you’re not currently dealing with any issues, regular checks allow us to catch potential problems early.
A healthy smile is a lasting smile.

The Procedure

Protect your smile with a full dental health check.

- Teeth cracks/wear – Check for any cracks or wear.
- Tooth discolouration – Identify any unusual discolouration.

Your Questions Answered
Dental Check FAQs
If we find a concern, we’ll discuss your treatment options and create a personalised plan to address the issue, ensuring you’re fully informed and comfortable with the next steps.
No special preparation is needed. Just continue with your regular oral hygiene routine and come with any questions or concerns you’d like to address.
Your dental health check covers seven detailed assessments: tooth decay, gum health, teeth cracks/wear, tooth discolouration, soft tissue health (mouth cancer screening), jaw joints/muscles, and swollen glands in the face and neck. For new patients, x-rays may be taken to identify hidden issues.
We recommend a dental health check every six months to stay on top of your oral health. However, depending on your individual needs, we may suggest more frequent visits.
GBT (Guided Biofilm Therapy) Airflow® technology is an advanced cleaning method used during hygiene appointments. It removes biofilm, plaque, and stains more effectively and comfortably than traditional cleaning techniques, promoting better gum health.
X-rays are typically taken for new patients and then only as needed during future visits to monitor tooth decay or other hidden issues. We use low-radiation phosphor plate technology for your safety.
We understand that visiting the dentist can be stressful for some patients. Our team is trained to offer gentle, patient-centred care and will do everything we can to help you feel comfortable and relaxed during your checkup. Don’t hesitate to share your concerns with us; we’re here to support you.
